Janet Michaud is the Creative Director of Janet Michaud Design where she’s consulting with clients on design, storytelling, collaboration, branding and strategy. Before that, she was the Creative Director at Politico where she launched the magazine from scratch and led the newsroom’s Visuals team, fostering high impact storytelling and sharpening the brand’s identity. Janet has received numerous awards for the publication’s design, photography, illustration and graphics, including an ASME nomination for General Excellence in its first year and an Ellie for Feature Photography. Before Politico, she was the Design Director at The Washington Post where she built and coached a revitalized team of visual storytellers, as well as redesigned the newspaper and magazine. Janet was also an Art Director at TIME Magazine and created the Sports Art Director position at the Boston Globe. She is the 2019 recipient of Ball State’s Majeri Award for creativity, innovation and leadership in Graphic Journalism.
