Viesturs is an anthropologist working in design and planning, currently leading the Vefresh innovation district in Riga, Latvia. Between 20013/2014 he co-organized the "City Seminar" series at the University of Cambridge. In 2016, he worked for the Baltic Pavilion in the XV Venice Architecture Biennial and starting 2018 researches immersive technologies in urban design under auspices of “Augmented Urban”.
