Growing up in a culture where expressing forms of sexuality is taboo, Guatemalan-born artist Louis Dorantes was shocked and inspired by the openness towards sex and desire when he moved to New York to study at Parsons. He now creates subversive lingerie for the club kids stuck at home right now as the designer for Leak Your Sex Tape. This Brooklyn-based brand creates “underwear art for queer bodies,” otherwise described as “slutgear”. Louis crafts gender-neutral corsetry, harnesses, and bodysuits – merging his designs with neon mesh, chain link detailing, and piled on hardware collages. The mission: to deconstruct the binary of masculine and feminine expression with sex-positive ideals that cater to a wider range of sizes and gender-identities.
