ADC Awards

The ADC Annual Awards is the oldest continuously running industry award show in the world. Now in its incredible 102nd year, these awards celebrate the very best in advertising, digital media, graphic and publication design, packaging and product design, motion, experiential and spatial design, photography, illustration and fashion design all with a focus on artistry and craftsmanship.

Dr. Shizuka Hariu

Brussels

Shizuka is an interdisciplinary designer between scenography and architecture. She completed her Ph.D. in the UK and a Master's degree in Architecture in Japan. She is a co-director at SHSH Architecture+Scenography established with an architect Shin Hagiwara. Her main works are opera Super Angels, opera Written on Skin as a creative director, as a designer, Dystopian Dream, Sacred Monsters (Akram Khan & Sylvie Guillem), Solid Traces, Sensing Spaces and many others across Europe and Japan. These productions have toured in venues, including Royal Opera La Monnaie, Sadler’s Wells, New National Theatre Tokyo, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Sydney Opera House, Suntory Hall, Royal Academy of Arts and many more international theatres and museums. Recently she is nominated for the World Stage Design 2022. She received awards including the World Stage Design 2017 Bronze medal, Yoshio Sagawa Opera Award, D&AD, German Design Award, Tokyo Design Award, Pola Art Foundation Award. She represented the UK team for PQ2015, PQ2019 and exhibited at V&A. SHSH won many competitions, such as Gallos Roman Museum and the 1st prize of the Moralnwelz Library. (www.shsh.be)
