Luise Stauss is an award-winning Director of Photography and Visual Strategist specializing in editorial and branded content. She worked with Peter Mendelsund and Oliver Monday on the launch issue of the redesigned Atlantic and is currently leading The Atlantic’s Photo Direction and team. Prior to this, Luise was Co-Founder of the Photography Consultancy Stauss & Quint, creating imagery for design firms like Pentagram and 2x4; and brands like Apple, collaborating with a wide range of international magazines and publishing houses, and served as the Director of Photography on the launch of Modern Farmer. Previously Luise was Senior Photo Editor at The New York Times Magazine and worked on the launch of T Magazine. A graduate from Central St Martins College of Art & Design in London, she has lectured widely, and taught at the Graphic Design Department of The School of Visual Arts. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and children.
