Remi Adetiba

Creative Director, Filmmaker, Photographer

New York, United States

Remi Adetiba is a multidisciplinary creative with close to two decades of experience working in the creative industries in both his NYC base and his native Lagos, Nigeria. Remi began his career in advertising, and over the course of six years, was fortunate enough to contribute in a variety of capacities (from concept, to art direction, to hands-on technology leadership) to a wide variety of projects, including the launch campaign for Amazon Kindle/Prime, the Rock Band: Beatles video game release (among others in the franchise), as well as multiple campaigns for Pernod Ricard USA, Starwood Hotels, Rockefeller Center, SONY, Beiersdorf US, Pfizer, Merck, and Johnson & Johnson. After a few years helping lead digital marketing-technology efforts at The New York Times and the music-streaming startup Grooveshark (an eventful experience, to be sure), Remi dove head-first into his other long-term passion – photography. Working between NYC and West/Southern Africa, his work has been featured in publications including ELLE Taiwan, ESSENCE, Forbes Africa, Glamour SA, Schick, New African Woman, and the reality-competition show Africa’s Next Top Model, where he served as a resident judge alongside veteran supermodels Josie Borain and Oluchi Onweagba. His photo series “The Corruption of Eve” premiered at the LagosPhoto Festival, before touring the continent with the African Artists’ Foundation. Leaning fully into the “left-brained creative” identity he honed during his advertising years, Remi went from producing his photo shoots to working with his sister, acclaimed writer-director Kemi Adetiba – first on smaller projects like music videos and webseries. Then Kemi and Remi came together to produce the 2018 feature film King of Boys, which garnered major critical and commercial success in Nigeria’s rapidly growing Nollywood film industry. After multiple award nominations, a few wins, and a few box-office records broken, the duo continued the KOB saga as an equally-impactful limited series on streaming giant Netflix, called King of Boys: Return of the King. Remi continues to work between NYC and Lagos as a creative director/photographer, and is currently working with Kemi on their upcoming project, To Kill A Monkey.
