Magnus Atom is a multi-disciplinary animation director and commercial artist. In addition to giving him a cool name, his parents trained him to be an artist from as early as he could hold a pastel stick in his hand. Born in Hawaii and raised in Brooklyn, he studied art at LaGuardia High School, Cooper Union, SVA, and received his BFA from Parsons The New School of Design. Notable clients have included VICE, Headspace, Netflix, Playboy, The New York Times, Spotify, Channel 4, and Apple. His real passion lies in working with brands to promote mental health awareness and meditation to make the world a healthier place. Trained in cel-animation, CGI, VFX, stop-motion, motion graphics, illustration, graphic design and typography, he is known for blending all of his skills to solve design challenges and create work that is unique and technically complex. In 2021 he was the recipient of the Young Guns 19 award and is represented globally as an animation director by Strange Beast in London.
