Meryl is the Co-Founder and ECD of Merf, a homegrown independent ad agency that launched its operations in Egypt in 2021, and has since launched acclaimed branding projects and advertising campaigns; partnering with top brands. Meryl is an advertising veteran with 30+ years of multinational ad agency experience, 30+ creative awards and extensive brand building expertise with more than 50 local and international brands. Her most recent post prior to establishing Merf was the Regional Executive Creative Director - Mena of Seven; a multinational independent ad agency that is focused on emerging markets, Meryl was assigned the Launch of Seven’s Cairo’s office on September 2019, where she added 9 accounts to its portfolio of clients within 6 months, while managing its creative departments across the region. Having worked with most of the global ad agencies, her previous to the Seven role was ECD at Momentum Egypt (part of McCann Worldgroup and MCN), as the creative lead to relaunch Momentum to the positioning of a Total Brand Experience Agency early in 2016, becoming a full solutions provider to its clients, and expanding its scope of operation, where she took the lead on a pool of international and local brands within the new Momentum Egypt set up, such as Emirates NBD, Arla, Peugeot and L’Oreal. This came after a long journey in the advertising industry that has started in Saatchi & Saatchi in 2001, passing through JWT Cairo - formerly Bonus Euro RSCG, Strategies - part of BBDO Network, FP7/McCann, it also included a period of going independent, where Meryl Co-Founded 622; a homegrown Boutique Agency (2013-2015).
