I'm Julia Mota, Associate Creative Director currently working at GUT São Paulo. I have always been a die-hard fan of pop culture which means all kinds of TV crap, dubious taste memes and, of course, advertisement. That's why I've chosen to dedicate over 10 years of my life coming up with ideas for the most important brands in Brazil and getting some awards because of them. Sad to say, but life hasn't always been that cool. When I started working at advertising agencies as a copywriter, I quickly realized creative departments weren't full of women. There were always me and one or two more girls working against dozens of male teams. Unfair competition, right? But it got worse when I discovered less than 20% of creatives in Brazil at that moment were women. It was not the best-case scenario to start, but it pushed me to want to be the best version of creative I could, only to change it. My career as a creative leader is just starting, but the main objective will always support equality at agencies and make room for next generations of creative women.
