We always believed that it was a lucky turn of events that Emese from Romania via France and Dorottya from Hungary came together as an art and copy pair in the city of Budapest. It's not obviously fortunate to be creative women in a market with strong patriarchal tendencies and limited opportunities. But we've found our situation to be the best incubator for creativity because we have to outsmart the system every day.

When others work with enormous budgets, we craft award-winning pieces from practically nothing. When the whole world tries to tackle the same global problems, we search for the local aspects of them. We turn adversity into success, and scarcity into growth.

We've learned that the Eastern European woman identity doesn't have to hinder us, in fact, we should celebrate it. Now in our DDB leadership roles, our vision is clear. We have to raise the next generation of talent with Eastern resourcefulness and international standards to prove to this market: we can all feel fortunate to be creatives in Budapest.
