Cristo Fernández

Actor & Filmmaker

Cristo Fernández is a Mexican actor and filmmaker born in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Fernández began his professional life as a soccer player. Though soccer was the only thing he ever thought he would do, he was able to discover new passions when injuries threatened his career for the first time. A newfound love for film and acting motivated him to pursue another path... He went to college and after completing a BA degree in Communications, he began actively pursuing creative outlets and a career as an actor and film maker. He moved to London to further his studies and was awarded his master’s degree from the Guildford School of Acting at the University of Surrey. After finishing his masters program, Fernández set his goals to creating independent projects as an actor, director, writer and producer, so he would create a reel and body of work to show. The plan paid off when Fernández won the role of "Dani Rojas” the beloved AFC Richmond star football player, on the multi-Emmy winning comedy series "TED LASSO”, for Apple TV+ & Warner Bros. Fernández' performance as Rojas, has given the role a platform of positivity and inspiration, as well as Latin American representation around the globe. Fernández was recently awarded the "Rising Star Award" for Television from the Critics Choice Association during the 2nd Annual Celebration of Latino Cinema & Television. The award was presented by Oscar winning director Alejandro González Iñárritu. Audiences were thrilled to see Fernández make his debut in the Marvel Universe with his end scene appearance in "SPIDER MAN: No Way Home.” With the recent Announcement of his role as "Wheeljack" in the upcoming "TRANSFORMERS: Rise Of The Beasts”, Fernández is becoming a “go-to” for Hollywood action films. In 2017, Fernández launched his production company "Espectro MX Films”. Most notably, the company produced the upcoming feature film "SISTERS", which Fernández is also starring. The company is currently in pre-production for the feature film adaptation of his critically acclaimed short film, “FUERA DE SERIE", based on the real-life story of Mexican engineer, Guillermo González Camarena. ”Espectro MX Films" won the esteemed prize of Best Short Film at the Premios Latino 2018 in Marbella, Spain. Fernández currently splits his time between London, Los Angeles and Guadalajara.
