TDC Awards

The TDC competition, established in 1953, is the longest running, most prestigious, global typography and type design competition. Now in its 70th year, these awards are all about how letterforms are used and drawn, recognizing typographic excellence and celebrating new typeface designs in all global languages.

Founder of @africandesignmatters; researching, documenting and collaborating with Black, People of Color, Afro-Caribbean and African creative people, design educators, thought leaders, students, design institutions and studios towards reviving the African renaissance and elevating African knowledge systems, design sensibility, craftsmanship and cultural history. My work, advocacy and contributions with the design community's effort towards "decolonizing design education" and, more importantly, "decolonizing design educators" underpins the idea -- Design has a heterogeneous cultural past but only a homogeneous cultural history. What then can/could design learning be? Design is a cultural response; culture is a design response. Secretary, Design Institute of Ghana (DesignGhana; www.designghana.net), a chapter of the PADI Member, the Pan Afrikan Design Institute (PADI), also known as The Design Council of Africa (www.thepadi.org)
