TDC Awards

The TDC competition, established in 1953, is the longest running, most prestigious, global typography and type design competition. Now in its 70th year, these awards are all about how letterforms are used and drawn, recognizing typographic excellence and celebrating new typeface designs in all global languages.

Seb Lester

Lewes, England

Seb Lester trained in Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins in London. He now lives and works as an artist and designer in Lewes, England. Lester is a high-profile calligrapher who has developed logos and letterform-based illustrations for some of the world’s biggest companies, publications and events. His clients include NASA, Apple, Nike, Intel, Montblanc, The New York Times and The 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Previously a Senior Type Designer at Monotype for nine years, he developed custom typefaces for many familiar brands, including British Airways, Intel, Waitrose, The Daily Telegraph and H&M. Lester is the designer of the retail typefaces Neo Sans, Neo Tech, Soho and Scene.
